Any law student or attorney will know the answer to this one...
It depends-
on what you want to do. Do you want to practice law? Need a JD for that. Do you want to do something more business-related? Both degrees have benefits. You don't get much accounting or marketing education in a JD (unless you find a law class on running a law firm). MBA is much heavier in those areas. JD will teach you about many topics that will be useful for general business (contracts, insurance, legal risks/issues with various actions, IP strategy). You can always work in-house as an attorney and, depending on the company, have a much more business oriented job compared to an attorney working in a private law firm. |
