Re: Advice on taking the TN bar exam - Tennessee Bar Exam

I sat last summer in TN, and none of the three sites were at hotels. They all were at law schools. But there are plenty of hotels in the general area. However, I would caution against trusting the Board people in their suggestion for hotels on the website. I knew some people who stayed at one of the suggested hotels in Nashville and had to move because there was a train that constantly who coming by. I stayed two exits to the south of the site and had no problems in the morning (I did, however, have an alternate route planned just in case the interstate was blocked and left early just in case). I also recommend considering getting a hotel room the night after the exam if you're coming in from out of town. I had to drive back two hours after the exam. While I was very happy to sleep in my own bed, I was so tired physically and mentally that I have no recollection of that drive. Somehow I made it home and didn't kill myself or anyone else along the way. And I'd definitely bring a lunch. The Board people say you get 1 1/2 hours for lunch. However, we started late both days and they didn't give us extra time for lunch. I sat in my car, listened to the radio and ate my lunch -- away from anyone else so I didn't have to discuss the exam. Good luck to this year's test takers.
