Re: Advice on taking the TN bar exam - Tennessee Bar Exam

Tennessee seems to love to test on business law concepts, so have a basic understanding of agency/partnership, corporations, and the three UCC subjects. Know the basic differences between the U.S. and Tennessee constitutions. You most likely will also get an ethics question on your essays, despite the fact that there is an entire test devoted to that. Tennessee also seems to like to test on personalty, although it's generally not offered in law school and BarBri devotes about 15 minutes to it in lecture. But it should be enough. Everything else is a crapshoot -- you may get a family law question, perhaps a wills question, probably a conflicts of law question. Probably also good to know the counties that fall under the residential landlord tenant act and the major city in each of them. They are only 30 minute essays, so you aren't expected to write a treatise on each of them. However, there are 12 of them, so you need to pace yourself.

Good luck! You'll be fine.
