I used Jackson Mumey and his Celebration Bar Review for the New York Bar Exam and flunked. He doesn't know how to teach you how to write essays for the New York Bar Exam. John Pieper has an excellent course, and Dr. Mary Campbell Gallagher teaches one how to write effective New York Bar Essays and MPTs. Jackson Mumey's Celebration Bar Reveiw Course is extremely expensive, and he actually tells you that you don't have to know the law. If you don't know the New York Law so that you can spit it out in a NY minute, you will fail. Only 48% passed in Feb 2011. I was one of them. And Jackson Mumey and Celebration Bar Review don't work. PERIOD!

DON'T USE CELEBRATION BAR REVIEW. The materials are awful and Mr Mumey couldn't explain to me where I went wrong with several essays. Don't say I didn't warn you Use Bar/Bri or Pieper

[QUOTE=jea93550;1813]Has any one used Celebration Bar Review? Would you recommend it? What would you say about it?

I am currently using the Celebration program. I don't know any of the players, and am trying to give honest feedback. I am taking the bar in February, so I really can't speak for my personal success or failure with the program overall--but I will say the materials are, at times, not the best (putting it kindly). I'm a bottom line person. I want things correct, concise, and well-organized. There is just too much material to approach the learning process any other way, here. But some of the subjects covered fall woefully below what I consider acceptable. Jackson seems like a really nice guy--and he gives the impression that he cares and is very responsive to questions. But, on the other hand, he clearly could care less if his lectures are outdated, or if there are mistakes in the written materials. He harps on how you don't have to memorize to pass the bar--but that just doesn't make any intellectual sense. What I DO really like about the program is the structure. Each subject for both the MBE and the Multistate is broken down into manageable bits, with lots of practice built in. I've basically just filled in from other sources to make my own study outlines where his are lacking. And his ARE lacking. But I will pass the bar. Ultimately, I am responsible for my own success or failure. Celebration or Barbri or Kaplan or whatever will not make or break me.
