Thread: Adachi

I'm going to take '08 July NY bar. So far I'm enrolled in barbri courses. I read so much about Adachi's Bar Breaker book and how it helps your technique in essay writing that I'm tempted to buy his book. I did OK on law school exams but I think it could have done a lot better if I knew how to write better and organize my essays instead of just concentrating on knowing the material. So that is my weakness. So I'm especially tempted to get his book.

Also the next question is, it seems this book is about writing essays to the topics covered in CA bar, not NY. But do you think this would still be useful for people who are not taking the CA bar? In addition, Jeff Adachi seems to be one of the teachers for barbri (essay advantage), so does anyone recommend doing the essay advantage?

I highly recommend Jeff Adachi's book for anyone from any state. The techique is good for any state. However, the examples he uses and the subjects he covers are based on the Ca bar exam, but you will have enough model answers from Barbri, so you should be fine.

I don't recommend or not recommend essay advantage. I think it will be redundant after reading Adachi and taking Barbri. However, it is not a bad program, and many people find it useful. If I were you, I will spend the time taking essay advantage practicing essays.

    That's just my personal opinion.
