  1.   Alabama bar exam support group #1
Is anyone on this board taking the Alabama Bar Exam? I am going to take it in July 2008 and am now collecting notes/outlines from those of you who are willing to share.

Any tips/suggestions are also highly appreciated.

Most importantly, we can support each other through this anxious time. Thanks.

Concentrate soley on the MBE. You should be able to master AL essay in one week, the MEE is a toss up since they have added additional subjects tested on the MBE. The Alabama Essay book by Barbri is essential. See what topics are tested mostly. Be ready for any equity..This is gimme. Mastering Wills and Trusts essential. Spend about three weeks on essays. Thats it. The majority of your time should be spend practicing questions, reading outlines will not help. Although the bar exam tests black letter law, the answers are hidden behind modifiers and time is against you 1 minute 7 seconds for each question. The NCBE has a test prepartion test for about $20 this is a good investment. Spend time on the hardest subjects: Evidence, Real Property and Criminal Law. This are the trickiest. The Con Law, Torts and Contracts should be okay if you have a good understanding of UCC and S/F. And Torts: Intentional torts and Negligence must be mastered. And Con Law you must be able to identify the three levels of scrutiny: rational, middle, and strict scrutiny. You must master the language to elements and groups associated with - remember first amendment issues are always reviewed under strict scrutinty. Lots of exercise, good food and proper rest. And also on the MBE remember to keep it moving, remember this is 50% of the grade and pondering one question is crazy...It s only 1 point. GOOD LUCK.
