Thread: Is Anyone Suffering From Low Motivation?

Ugh, I'm so over the bar already. I know I need to study and work hard, but finding it difficult to motivate myself. Anyone have any tips?

    This is my motivation:

    1. If I don't pass, all my friends will know, because in MO they publish the names of everyone who passed, so if your name is not on the list - everyone knows you bombed. Not great for future referrals. Also in my case, if I don't pass, I don't have a job. Possible humiliation + no money = high motivation.

    2. If I don't pass, not only do I have to do this all over again, I have to lay out even more money to take MO again, and push back IL which I will only take in July if I pass MO in Feb.

    3. Why NOT spend the appropriate time studying? What else do you have to do? You have to do something with your time, studying for barbri is better than a lot of other things to do right now.

    4. In MO, there are 32 days left to the bar. I am taking advantage of every moment, because it will be here before I know it. And there is too much to learn at the last minute and still pass.

When I need to eat, I eat. When I need to sleep, I sleep. Exercising and faith activities are also invigorating.

Think of it as training for a marathon. It's the hard that makes it worth doing. Get er done.

    Good luck!

a friend of mine who didnt pass the bar her first time and passed for the second time said: "...never think that you will have another chance (2nd, 3rd) to take a bar exam. you have to pass it now and study NOW is the only right option you have got"

right now, do more of the practice questions and essays.

I graduated from law school over a year ago from England, I left the US 10 years ago when i was 13- so i dont know anyone here now. I cant afford the NY Barbri course so I got the books and im trying to learn it myself. I give the exam in Feb 2011. I try everyday to find the motivation but i just didn't have it. Who can study a course they dont know by themselves in a place where they know no one AND on a budget???

So I decided to give the MPRE before the Bar, just to get a flavor and i'm embarrassed to say I failed it :P. I don't know if my technique was wrong or what but i do NOT fail exams EVER.

So now ladies and gentleman, its me against the bar. I totally found my motivation. I was a really good student graduated close to the top of my law school and no wayy is this thing gonna fail me.

Want motivation?? This about the alternatives. I guarantee they are not so pretty.

    No pain no gain ladies.
