What books or class should I get for the coming up bar exam? I am especially interested in Barbri vs Emerson for review courses. Please give your recommendation and the reason for it.

Have not read anything from a real user, but this is a review from an Emerson Tutor:

"Emerson's course is great for essay writing. I took Emerson's course on my third try to take the Bar and I passed! It is definitely a repeaters course, it hones down on the approach for essay writing and really shows you to look at the other issues the Bar examiners want you to spot. I happen to now be a tutor for Emerson's course and look forward to helping students pass the Bar."

    NOT my personal opinion

Emerson's books are the best for essays. "What to Write" series -- only subjects not covered are wills, trusts and PR. For repeaters -- better to just take the course -- it's like Bar Review boot camp. (Not for MBE).

I think the Adachi books may have worked a few years ago -- but for repeaters -- given what the exam has turned into -- the Adachi stuff doesn't go deeply enough into the subjects.

I don't think the examiners are looking for the Adachi level of analysis any more -- given the last exam (7/07).
