Thread: Best Value CA Bar Review Course - Feb 09

  1.   Best Value CA Bar Review Course - Feb 09 #1
The cost of a Bar Review Course can be extremely expensive, and I am so much in debt from law school, that I want to minimize further digging my financial grave - but I want to pass the California Bar the first time I take it, and I have to choose one. Some say that many of the courses are overkill and not necessary. There are so many, and I'm extremely unhappy with my initial choice of Barbri. I live in West LA, and if I attend a live course I have to get one within a reasonable driving distance. Does anyone have suggestions?

Here at Golden Gate University School of Law, barpassers.com was recommended to me by faculty members. The live class is taught here at the university so it is convenient as well.

Check them out to see if it is right for you.

I'm also trying baroutlines, as suggested by a few people on this forum.

Are you already taking BarBri? BarBri has some good materials, but the course is not right for everyone.

For California-- BarBreakers book by Jeff Adachi (who BarBri has hired to run their essay workshops in NorCal) are great.

MBE-- you need the PMBR redbook

If you have issues in how to study / study plan / or where to start then you may want to consider a tutor. If you feel your issue is just substantive material then a BarBri or BarPassers would be okay but if you didn't want to spend the money on either then get yourself a used BarBri convisor, the 2 books i mentioned above, and buckle down for the next 2 months.

    Good Luck!
