Thread: CA Bar exam study schedule

  1.   CA Bar exam study schedule #1
    Hi all,

I am reaching out to you guys in hopes that someone may be able to share their experience and/or strategy for tackling Feb 09 California Bar Exam.

I'm a repeater and a full time employee. I know, it's a crazy thing to work full time and trying to tackle CA Bar exam. Considering today's economy, it's not possible for me to study full time. Therefore, my only option is to kill myself for the next two and half months, studying for the bar exam after work. Any suggestions on how I should go about studying for the exam? Anyone that was in a similar situation as mine maybe? Any help or comment would be most appreciated. Thanks all.

    Hi Jai,

I applaud your efforts! I just sent you a copy of the syllabus that our California tutors use for students that also work full time. It is not an easy task, but is very doable!

Best of luck in your efforts!

If you have limited time you obviously need to make the best of it. This is done by focusing on MBE practice and seeing as many essays and PTs as possible.

    MBE-- PMBR and/or Rigos

Essay --- Bar Breakers for substance and structure/BarBri and old CA exams on the CA bar website for simple exposure to question types and law (and rule statements you can borrow for your own essay use).

Do not spend hours "reviewing" the black letter by reading outlines for hours. Make your studying as "active" as possible-- active learning will allow you to understand concepts and how the law works, not just outline form memorization of terms and rules.

    Hello!

I am a full-time attorney in Seattle, taking the CA Bar in February '09. I was wondering if I could also get a copy of the suggested study schedule for full-time workers. Thanks!!
