I posted this question originally before studying for the February 2009 calbar, and I did end up choosing Daniel from a plethora of calbar tutors I interviewed. Daniel is an AWESOME tutor! I recommend him 110%.

After failing the July Bar Exam having prepped with Barbri, I knew a tutor was necessary to get the personalized study plan and feedback which big Bar-prep companies like Barbri sorely lack. Daniel is amazing--such an incredibly gifted teacher. His success rate speaks for itself. I chose Daniel as my tutor because I got a good initial vibe from him and his rates were very reasonable, but I am so lucky to have had Daniel as a tutor. I nailed the February 2009 bar with confidence despite the 33% pass rate for that exam.

Daniel understood my unique learning style and was able to create a study plan that really worked for me, and he adapted my study plan to focus on my weaknesses as he saw my skills improving or lacking in certain areas. He didn't simply correct my mistakes; he could see how I was analyzing legal problems and helped me change my befuddled thinking process to fit the cookie-cutter bar exam style of legal analysis. Daniel gave detailed, clear feedback that was consistent, and he hammered his points into my head when I made the same mistake twice. For just one example, I was constantly over-analyzing and focusing on the wrong issues, which caused me to miss other issues and lose precious time. Daniel helped me spot all the issues and recognize the importance of the different issues, then he gave me essay assignments which were issue-heavy and time-consuming to make sure I was practicing what he taught me.

Daniel knows the bar exam inside and out and he knows exactly what it takes to pass the exam. Daniel helped me stay focused and on-track, kept me motivated to study hard, and gave me the firm advice I needed to pass. I could tell he truly cared about me and did everything in his power to help me pass. He is extreemely professional and honest. I could go on and on. If you are determined to pass the beastly California Bar Exam, Daniel will not let you down.
