1.   Essays at July 08 FL Bar exam #1
Hello All,

Anyone recall the essays from the July 2008 Florida Bar exam?

Thanks.

Category: FL - Florida Bar Exam

Florida subjects tested on Feb 2008

3 essays: Trust (mean was 41), FL Con Law (mean was 51) , and Contracts (mean was 53)

People did not expect trust, so it was the lowest. It's not a very common essay if you look at the past questions.

3 multiple: Fl Civil/Crim Procedure, Fl Evidence, Fl Wills

These are pretty common subjects for multiple choice

Thanks for the February info, but I wanted to know the July 08 info. Maybe someone recalled the essays they answered.

The first essay was property and ethics. It involved a gratuitous conveyance of land as well as a subsequent purchaser for value (though you had to distinguish between bona fide purchaser and just a purchaser). It also had issues regarding confidentiality, withdrawing as counsel, and perjury.

The second essay was torts and ethics. Issues included misrepresentation, stict products liability, negligence, and res ipsa loquitur. If I remember correctly, it was also important to note the status of the plaintiffs in terms of invitee/licensee status. There was also an issue involving two co-plaintiffs and the representation of each or both in a civil suit.

The third essay was trusts. It involved the basic elements of a trust and whether certain pieces of the trust res were valid. Also included was an issue involving the named beneficiary on a life insurance policy.

Multiple choice was business entities, evidence, and procedure.

The essay questions will likely be posted on the bar exam webpage soon if they aren't already there.
