Re: Georgia Bar

According to the GA Bar Admission,
Quote:
Persons who have degrees from non-qualifying U.S. or foreign institutions may
qualify by achieving passing scores on certain of the CLEP General Examinations [See Part B,
Section 4(a)(2)];Been awarded a JD or LLB by a law school approved by the American Bar Association or by the Georgia Board of Bar Examiners
Therefore, the first step for you is to write to both the American Bar Associaion and the Georgia Board of Bar Examiners to confirm that your institution has been approved.

Then, you should sign up for an online class such as MicroMash or BarBri for a comprehensive study.

Finally, we highly recommend the outlines from BarOutlines.com for your final review no matter what class you have attended.

Good luck!

Re: Georgia Bar

I have UK LL.B and am sitting NY Bar this Feb. The previous answer probably gave you all you need to know. But for reassurance, the process was very straightforward in my experience - just a call to the examiners to confirm i was eligible followed by online application and submission of relevant docs. If you pick a good bar review course it will cover everything you need to know and much of it (particularly contract/torts) will be familiar from your UK studies. I also did a home study course on CD - it requires a lot of self discipline and access to a quiet room but is doable. Even though the courses are usually only 8 weeks long - I would strongly recommend getting hold of the course as early as possible as there is a LOT to cram in!!

Best of luck!
