  1.   MBE Passing Score #1
Is the passing score for the MBE portion of the 2009 bar exam still ~ 70 - 75 ?

In Feb it was c124 correct out of 190. Scaled score of 141.4. About 65% correct.

There is no "passing" score for the MBE (unless you are taking just that portion for some state).
States that use the MBE have their own formula to weight the MBE in the overall score.

The national mean for Feb 08 was 137.67 which was between a 120 and 121 raw.

I should have said that was the NY scoring system but as Upnorth said, there is no actual 'passing' score. I have heard some people score as low as 100 and do very well in the essays and MPT and pass overall. Generally though you should be aiming at getting a minimum of 120+ to achieve a pass, unless your essays are of a very high standard.

All in all, people recommend that you try to achieve a 120+ but how can you gauge this in the exam? Truth is you cannot. So just learn the material, practice, practice and practice the MBEs and try to achieve the best grade you can.

I agree. Read the material, do the practice questions, you will be fine!
