Thread: Memorization tips

  1.   Memorization tips #1
I did ok in school even though I worked FT the first 2 years. My final year I did law school only and did well. I never had test anxiety because I always prepared adequately for class and exams. HOWEVER, I always spent a lot of time memorizing all the elements, rules, etc. before each exam. I am now doing the Bar Bri paced program exercises, and am starting to feel overwhelmed with all the memorization I am going to have to do before the Missouri bar exam in Feb.

MY QUESTION IS: Is it possible to memorize everything that needs to be memorized in all 19 areas? How does a person do that who only had to memorize for one exam at a time up until this point?

Any tips, guidance, advice would be SINCERELY appreciated.

    Possible? Yes
    Probable? No.

Remember this important point: you do not need a perfect score to pass the bar exam. This means you do not need to memorize "everything that needs to be memorized in all 19 areas."

Memorizing most of the key points of your outline will get the job done. The exam is still over a month out- lots of time. Hopefully you've been studying already for a few weeks so you should be on your way to filling your head with enough info to pass your exam.

I need some actual methods by which I can memorize the materials. Not much is sticking right now. I have flashcards, outlines, essays, materials. Reviewing it several times and repeating it is not making it really stick because there's so much to memorize. Tips would be appreciated. Thanks.
