Hi everyone. I want to thank you first for reading my question and maybe answering them. I have a friend from New York and is applying for admission to Bar in CA. In the past, He did something that is not the most legal, and the Bar is probing. My question is, when and in what situations calbar bring folks in for an informal hearing in CA? And, when do they ask folks to go to a drug/alcohol counselor? Finally, what are the chances of passing your moral character if all of the above happened, but you are completely clean for the past 6 years? |

you will be surprised that honesty can really get paid off in the contest of "moral character." Make sure you let them know what happened, and they may just forgive your friend. In general, informal hearing happens when there is a "contested issue" (meaning that there is about 80% chance your friend won't pass). Be prepared to show that your friend is completely clear now, and that the things he/she did involves no "moral turpitude" good luck!! |
