Thread: Moral Character and Fitness

  1.   Moral Character and Fitness #1
I'm a little worried now about my Moral Character application. I had to call my assigned case worker to have her send a form to my school and she knew who I was immediately and said, without provocation, "I can't discuss your application". You'd think these case workers have 100 files to deal with at a time, yet she knew me right away. I'm thinking this is because there is something wrong with my app. I disclosed everything, including a thing that happened 5 years ago where I got into some trouble at a job. Now I'm worried - anyone have experience with this?

I really think you have nothing to worry about unless the thing you are talking about at job invovles you stealing/lieing that will distube the moral turpitude.

If you are honest about what you have done, and it does not involve you stealing money from your clients (which may be an indication that you are not fit to be a lawyer) then you should be fine.

I have heard many stories invoving committing assault and battery or even manslaughter over 5 years ago and still passed their character and fitness.

If you feel comfortable, please tell us more about your "job incident" maybe one of us on the board have done the same thing. Or if it's really bad, maybe someone with the similar background can let you know the outcome of their interviews:)
