Thread: Practicing in Georgia - as a physical challenged attorney

  1.   Practicing in Georgia - as a physical challenged attorney #1
I was going to take the GA bar exam in Feb, 2008, but I just got lumbar disk disease or a "lumbar spine" I can't sit for too long, and I don't think I can really finish the bar exam without hurting my body. Should I still take it? If I don't, what can I do with this condition and a JD degree? Please help....

    keep your medical record

Make sure you say all your symptoms and have the medical record as complete as possible so that when you are applying for special accomodation you won't have to start info collecting from scratch.

With that said, I do agree with tari in the discussion board that you should think about changing a profession so that you won't hurt your body. On the other hand, you should live your life to the fullest, and who knows, miracle does happen.

Good luck on whatever you choose to follow!

I am so sorry to hear that Adgo :( It's ok tho, you can petition for accomodation. go to

http://www.gabaradmissions.org/ and look for "ADA Testing Accomodations", and with your medical condition, I think you can get the accomodation you need! Good luck!
