Thank you very much for your answers and advice. I live in LA, California. I called California Bar and explained to them that I have already a graduate degree and I rather audit the classes and then take the exam. I also asked them for alternatives but the person who answered me told me that I have to go to "accredited Law school"!!! Although, everyone claimed that this in office program is a long way to go (internet articles), in average I have to get a law education for one year before the baby bar and then three more years before the bar exam. Total 4 years (same as the in office program), in addition, going to a law school would end up with hundereds of thousands of dollars in debt which I can not afford. Online schools cost about $60,000 for the four years, still too much and the bar does not acknowledge them!!! Who should I ask or how can I get to the people who run the "Law office Study program"? Thank you in advance for your input.

Fill out notice of intent and call the number listed below First, ABA preferss accredited law school way over any other alternative method to keep the quality of attorneys. However, Study in a Law Office program that you are interested in is completely legit. Currently, there are about 90 people doing it in CA alone. Not everone in the Calbar office will know about it b/c it is so uncommon, try calling 213-765-1500 or 415-538-2300 (admission committee) Tell the person in charge that you are interested in "California State Bar Law Office Study Program" The California State Bar Law Office Study Program allows California residents to become California attorneys without graduating from college or law school, assuming they meet basic educational requirements. If the candidate has no college degree, he or she may take and pass the CLEP, or College Level Examination Program. The Bar candidate must study under a judge or lawyer for four years and must also pass the Baby Bar within three administrations after first becoming eligible to take the examination. Here are the forms you need to fill out for the program: 1) Notice of Intent to Study in a Law Office http://calbar.ca.gov/calbar/pdfs/admissions/om76-8a.pdf 2) Law Office Report Cover Sheet: http://calbar.ca.gov/calbar/pdfs/admissions/om76-8b.pdf 3) other admission forms are at: http://calbar.ca.gov/state/calbar/ca...=10115&id=1006 hope it helps |
