It depends.
(You'll learn this is also a good answer to just about every question asked during law school)
There are far too many variables to give an easy answer to this. Ask ten attorneys this question and you'll probably get ten different answers. Since I'm number one, I'll throw in:
Dedication
Toughness
Ability to work efficiently
Ability to manage time
focus and commitment. you'll need to be able to speak in front of people and defend your opinions. Love of reading, a knowledge of your state and the US constitution. and legal opinions are usually good starts to see if you are inclined to the methods of case law construction. see findlaw dot com and oyez project.
The less one is distracted in school (working to pay or partying) will directly effect your attitude during the very useful education.
This does not compare to the compromises you will make when you are a lawyer and you might not want to cross those lines. Work in a law office not for a sole practitioner unless you see his name in the media every week. Most become partners in small to med law firms.
