i heard that some people have to take flysx or baby bar before they can take the Ca bar, who needs to take them? what subjects are involved? what is it anyway? thanks

First-Year Law Students' Examination (FYLSX) - California Baby Bar

Who has to take it?
1. ABA approved schools do not have to take it.
2. If you have passed the bar in another jurisdiction, you don’t have to take it.
3. Any Common Law Jurisdiction (like U.K.) attorneys do not have to take it.

Other 1 L graduates need to take it (like correspondence school)

When is it given?
It is given twice a year in October and June.

What is on the exam?
- 3 Subjects: Contract, Criminal Law, Torts
- They are very similar to the general bar exam questions

How long is the exam?
- 1 Day Test: Morning there is 3 1/2 hour – 4 hour session, four 45 minutes essay questions; (Lunch Break); 100 multiple questions, 3 hours of multiple choices
