The Guam Bar Exam is a two-day exam -- Tuesday and Wednesday -- with the performance test and essays on Tuesday and the multiple-choice Multistate Bar Exam on Wednesday.

Beginning with the July 2002 Bar Exam, in addition to the MEE, MBE, and MPT, the Board will be administering one question on local law. The local question may be in an essay, multiple-choice, or true/false format. You will be provided with a list of local authorities in order to prepare for the local question. You will not be permitted to consult with these authorities during the examination.

First Day (Tuesday) morning session:
* Three hours
* One 90-minute Multistate Performance Test (MPT) Questions
* One Local Question

First Day (Tuesday) afternoon session:
* Three hours
* Six 30-minute Multistate Essay Exam (MEE) questions

Second Day (Wednesday) morning session:
* Multistate Bar Examination (MBE)
* 200 Multiple-Choice questions.

Passing Scores: Applicants are required to achieve a total combined score of 132.50 on the Essay/MPT and MBE examinations. The passing scores for the MPRE is a scaled score of 80.

The Essay/MPT and MBE examinations must be taken and passed in one attempt. Bifurcation of these exams is not allowed. The MPRE may be taken prior to or after the two-day Essay/MPT/MBE examinations. An applicant must pass the MPRE examination within two years before or after the test date(s) during which the applicant passed the Essay/MPT/MBE exams.

Upon passing the Guam Bar Examination, an applicant must successfully sit for the MPRE examination within one year of the test dates during which he/she passed the Guam Bar Examination; otherwise, the applicant must re-take and pass the Guam Bar Examination in order to be considered a qualified candidate for admission to practice law on Guam.

Transferability of Scores: MBE transfers from earlier Guam administrations of the examination or from another jurisdiction are not accepted. However, scores from a Guam administration of the MBE may betransferred to other jurisdictions. Requests for the transfer of MBE scores must be made directly with the NCBE. Requests for the transfer of MPRE scores must be made directly with the NCBE.
