Essay Portion of Illinois

I took NY and NJ in July 2007. I am now moving to IL. My MBE transfers but I still have to take the essay portion. Also, I have to pass it independently, i.e. my MBE score doesnt combine with it. So I think I need to score a 132 on the essays. Is it harder to get a 132 indpendently than combined with the MBE? What do you recommend for studying?

Re: Essay Portion of Illinois

well, it depends on how easy MBE was for you. Some people are really bad with MBE, and thus getting a 132 is much easier without MBE. If you could transfer your MBE, then you must be pretty good at it, so maybe it is a little bit harder for you to get a 132 without MBE to balance.

However, not having to worry about MBE and focusing on your state portion can go a long way. Just spend some time studying and practicing for the essay portion, and you will do just fine.
