Unless you have a lot of time on your hands, spending the time to even think about this question is a waste. This would be just like asking if a particular score on a bar exam is considered "good" (assuming your jurisdiction tells you the actual score if you pass).

Why?

Because it is meaningless. I think the highest required minimum MPRE score for any jurisidiction is 86 (see http://www.ncbex.org/ for the chart on page 21 of the Comprehensive Guidelines to Bar Admission) so anything more than that is meaningless. A 96 gets you everwhere you need to be.

Yes, I suppose you are right. It's just that I am from overseas and heard some people talking about it and I wondered whether in fact it made a difference. Like you say the object is to pass and who cares about the rest!!
