Hi

Does anyone have a template I could use for a Study Schedule as I prepare for the NY Bar? I have started studying but not sure how much time I should devote to each subject/aspect of the exam? I am working full time as well. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

The pace program just recommends you to study 6-12 hours a day. In the morning you go to the lecture for 3 hours (which means you should study your book/outline 3 hours in the morning) in the afternoon you practice 2 essays for 1 essay subject, then 33 questions a day for one MBE subject.

I personally found the lecture to be a waste of time and preferred studying the outlines on my own. For MBE subjects, you should dedicate 2 days for each subject. For NY subject, you should dedicate 1 day for each subject. Then after you have gone through everything once, start practicing 2 essays in the morning and 2 essays in the afternoon. try to practice 50 MBE questions everyday.

Study the MBE topics and do the MBE tests until you have hit a high percentage right. Do one topic per week until you get a high enough score and do not stop studying practicing that first topic even when you move on to the next topic. After you have done all the questions, which is best to use the PMBR book for, then do mixed questions.

You should be studying a topic per week and doing questions. Lay out a schedule of the number of topics you must study to figure out how many weeks you need to spend on it. Then start studying the NY topics. Do not stop doing practice MBE questions. Do alot of essays and MBE questions as you get closer to the test.

IF you feel like you are not getting to where you want to be, you may need a tutor. I had to hire a tutor after I failed the first time and he helped alot. His name is Drew Novins and really helped me focus, learn how to answer MBE questions and do essays. Also, get the old NY essays from the Pace Law School website. Do those tests and not barbri's since the NY bar examiners get their questions from their old tests. The last time I took NY I studying really old exams and those questions were exactly on the same questions on the bar. I went in knowing what they wanted me to answer and was not lost. Good Luck.

I'm totally in the same boat as you. I am working full time, and I will not be able to take time off for this one. I didn't have to work when I took and passed MA! I also am looking for NY materials (i.e. for the NY Multiple Choice and the NY Essays)! Thanks

If you go on the bar bri website you can use their timetable, even if you don't actually use the course. You could still go through like that.

Does any one know someone who's taken the bar with foreign credentials? Is it easy to get cleared?
