What is a Law office or Judge Chamber study?

I read in the cal bar exam board that someone is studying under the Law Office or Judges Chamber Study. Can someone explain in detail what this is? how do you do it? How good is it?

It's a way to take the bar exam without going to law school

If you don't want to go to law school but want to take the CA bar exam, you can apply for this program, where under the supervision of an attorney or a judge with 5+ year good standing, you can get law school credit by completing the program (4 years I believe?)

Just working for them aren't enough. You have to apply for the credit, and your supervisor has to be approved beforehand, too.

You can read about the official document in http://calbar.ca.gov/calbar/pdfs/admissions/om76-8a.pdf

Let me know if you have more questions and I will answer
