The Alabama Bar Exam is a three-day exam -- Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday -- with the essay questions and performance tests on Monday and Tuesday and the multiple-choice Multistate Bar Exam on Wednesday.

First Day (Tuesday):
* Alabama Essay Questions
* 90-minute Multistate Performance Test (MPT) Question
* Multistate Essay Exam (MEE)

Second Day (Wednesday)
* Alabama Essay Questions
* 90-minute Multistate Performance Test (MPT) Question
* Multistate Essay Exam (MEE)

Third Day (Wednesday) morning session:
* Three hours * Multistate Bar Examination (MBE)
* 100 Multiple-Choice questions.

Third Day (Wednesday) afternoon session:
* Three hours * Multistate Bar Examination (MBE)
* 100 Multiple-Choice questions.

Alabama will accept your scaled score of at least 140 from an MBE taken in another jurisdiction if the score was achieved within 20 months, and if you passed the bar exam and were admitted to the jurisdiction where the MBE was taken.

Grading of the Alabama Bar Exam:
Alabama Essay Questions -- 20%
Multistate Essay Exam (MEE) -- 20%
Multistate Performance Test (MPT) -- 10%
Multistate Bar Exam (MBE) -- 50%

The local portion is scaled to the same scaling as the MBE -- 0 to 200.

A scaled score of 128 or higher is needed to pass. Alabama generally releases the results of the Summer exam in late September and the results of the Winter exam in early May.

*MPRE -- Alabama requires a scaled score of 75 on the MPRE. You must take the MPRE no more than 12 months before, or 20 months after, you sit for the Alabama Bar Exam.

Admission on Motion: Alabama does NOT permit admission on motion. To be admitted to the Alabama bar, you must take and pass the Alabama bar exam.
