The South Dakota Bar Exam is a two-day exam -- Tuesday and Wednesday -- with the essays and performance questions on Tuesday and the multiple-choice Multistate Bar Exam on Wednesday.

First Day (Tuesday):
* Two 90-minute Multistate Performance Test (MPT) Questions
* Six Multistate Essay Exam (MEE) Questions

Second Day (Wednesday) morning session:
* Three hours Multistate Bar Examination (MBE)
* 100 Multiple-Choice Questions.

Second Day (Wednesday) afternoon session:
* Three hours Multistate Bar Examination (MBE)
* 100 Multiple-Choice questions.

The South Dakota Board of Board Examiners MAY accept an MBE scaled score of at least 130, if the MBE was taken within 25 months prior to the next scheduled South Dakota exam and if the applicant passed the bar exam in the other jurisdiction.

Grading of the South Dakota Bar Exam: South Dakota averages your scores on the Essay and MBE days.

South Dakota generally releases the results in six-to-eight weeks after the bar exam.

*MPRE -- South Dakota requires a scaled score of 75 on the MPRE, and accepts a previous MPRE score if taken within 25 months by an Applicant "admitted in that jurisdiction."

Admission on Motion: South Dakota does NOT permit admission on motion.

To be admitted to the South Dakota bar, you must take and pass the South Dakota bar exam.
