The November MPRE is right around the corner, so now is the time to start getting ready. This is especially important if you are a third year. Most states require that you pass the MPRE before sitting for the Bar. This means that you do NOT want to wait until March of your last year to take it, since that is cutting it VERY close if you don't do as well as you had hoped. For this November exam: *Sat. Nov. 3, 2007 Test Date Application Receipt Deadline: Sept. 25, 2007 Late Application Receipt Deadline: Oct. 11, 2007 Examinees must be present at 9 a.m. on test day. This means that you guys have 9 days left if you haven't registered! Now, for the studying. The time you need to put in isn't as intensive as the Bar, obviously. However, you should not enter into this exam lightly. Those that rely solely on their common sense or Ethics class tend to need to repeat the exam. My suggestion is to take the next month, and spend a few hours a week going over practice qeustions. The program I put my students through is as follows: Oct 6th - 1 hour seminar, which acts as an introduction to the MPRE (overview of material) Between Oct 6th and Oct 27th, students schedule 4 hours of one on one time with me. In this time I asssign practice questions and exams, and we go over them in detail - discussing why some answers are better than others, and discussing the rules. Oct 27th - 3 hour seminar, going over a practice exam. This totals about 12 hours of studying on the part of the student. The important this is to go over practice questions - as many as you can!
